Kyle Schwarber first competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Middie Pride (OH) during the 10U week in 2003. He returned with the same organization during week 5 in 2005 as a 12U. In 2005 he led his team to the weekly championship title as the winning pitcher in their defeat over the Rochester Diamond Dawgs (NY), 13-1.

Kyle graduated from Middletown High School (Middletown, OH) where he played baseball, football and participated in show choir. On the diamond, Kyle led his team each season being named a four-time team MVP. He was also an all-state selection in football and baseball.

Kyle continued his education and baseball career at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN). He continued to excel on the field being name an All-American by Louisville Slugger and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper his freshman year. As a sophomore he was named a first-team All American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Kyle went on to compete for the United States collegiate national team during the summer of 2013. At the completion of his junior season, Kyle was a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award. He was then selected fourth overall by the Chicago Cubs in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. Kyle made is major league debut on June 16, 2015. The outfielder/catcher helped the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.

Kyle remained with the Cubs until 2020. Prior to the 2021 season, he signed with the Washington Nationals. On July 29, 2021, Kyle was traded to the Boston Red Sox. He was then traded to the Philadelphia Phillies, helping the team reach the 2022 World Series against the Houston Astros.
