Dillon Tate and the La Verne Eagles (CA) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2007, Tournament 12.

Dillon graduated from Claremont High School (Claremont, CA) where he was a three-year letter winner for the baseball team. His accolades included Second Team All-Sierra League and Athletic Academic Award.

Dillon continued his education at University of California, Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA) where he pitched three collegiate baseball seasons. He earned the following: 2014 – All-Big West Second Team; 2015 – All-Big West First Team, West All-Region First Team, D1Baseball.com Midseason Pitcher of the Year, Louisville Slugger All-American, D1Baseball All-American, and NCBWA All-American.

Dillon was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft. After one season he was traded to the New York Yankees (August, 2016) and then the Baltimore Orioles in July of 2018. Dillon made his Major League debut on July 29, 2019 with the Orioles. He signed with the Toronto Blue Jays in September of 2024 and helped the franchise reach the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
