Joey Loperfido competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2012, Tournament 12 with the Tri State Arsenal (NJ). He helped his team reach the semi-finals of the single-elimination tournament as the 17th seed.

Joey graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School (Haddonfield, NJ) where he was a three-year letter winner for baseball and also lettered in soccer. His accolades on the diamond included All-Colonial Conference and All-South Jersey as well as named to the Tri-State Arsenal Perfect Game All-Tournament team in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Joey continued his education at Duke University (Durham, NC), playing four years on the baseball team. He began his collegiate career as an infielder then moved to outfield his last two seasons. Joey was named Freshman All-America (2018), Second Team All-ACC outfielder (2021), and ACC Baseball Championship Tournament MVP (2021).

Joey was selected by the Houston Astros in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. He made his Major League debut on April 30, 2024. In July of 2024, Joey was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. He helped the Blue Jays reach the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Joey was traded back to the Houston Astros on February 13, 2026.
