Drake Maye

Drake Maye competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park twice. The first with the Lake Norman Copperheads (NC) in 2014’s Tournament 4. During his second appearance in 2015, Tournament 8, Drake helped his team, the Copperheads Gold (NC), to an undefeated regular game record for the 7th seed.

Drake graduated from Myers Park High School (Charlotte, NC) where he played football and basketball. Drake’s high school football accolades included Under Armour All-America Game selection, second-team All-American and MaxPreps North Carolina Player of the Year as a junior, first-team All-Observer and the Observer’s Male Athlete of the Year, and all-conference honors and the Rising Star Award as a sophomore. On the basketball court, Drake averaged 16.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game as a junior and earned all-conference and all-district honors.

Drake continued his education and football career at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC) where he earned the following honors playing quarterback: (2022) PFF Third-Team All-American, ACC Player of the Year, ACC Offensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-ACC, ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year, Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year, FWAA Freshman of the Year, and FWAA Freshman All –American; (2023) Second-Team All-ACC, Second-Team AP All-AC, and All-ACC Academic Team.

Drake was selected by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL draft. After two seasons in the NFL, Drake helped lead the Patriots to an AFC Championship and advanced to Super Bowl LX where they played the Seattle Seahawks.
