Jon Berti

Jon Berti and the Michigan Mustangs (MI) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park during Tournament 4 in 2002.

Jon graduated from Troy High School (Troy, MI) where he was a four-year starter at shortstop. During his senior year, he hit .467 setting school records for runs scored (66), hits (66), stolen bases (40-of-42) and triples (8) and helped the team to a 27-12 record, advancing to the state Div. I state semifinals. Jon was selected by the Oakland A’s in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft but opted to play at the collegiate level at Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH).

While at Bowling Green State University, Jon set program single-season records with a .423 batting average, 93 hits, and tied the single-season record with six triples and his 17 career triples were also a record. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. Jon made his Major League debut on September 26, 2018.

After the 2018 season Jon was traded to the Miami Marlins where he played for six seasons. In March of 2024, he was traded to the New York Yankees. Jon helped the Yankees reach the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jon was traded to the Chicago Cubs on December 7, 2024.
