Emerson Hancock competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Southern Longhorns (FL) in 2012, Tournament 2. He recorded a home run and helped his team to an undefeated pool play record and reached the Sweet 16 of the single-elimination tournament.

Emerson graduated from Cairo High School (Cairo, GA) where he was a pitcher for the baseball team. His accolades included Region 1-4A Player of the Year, All-Area Player of the Year, All-State Honorable Mention and team’s Golden Glove Award (2016) and Region 1-AAAA Pitcher of the Year, All-Area Player of the Year and First Team All-State (2017). In addition, he earned the team’s Academic Award and Most Outstanding Player Award (2017) and posted a team-best 11-1 record with 1.09 ERA as a junior and 11-1 with a 0.75 ERA as a senior.
Despite being selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, Emerson continued his education and baseball career at University of Georgia (Athens, GA). He completed his three-year collegiate career with a 16-7 record, 3.47 ERA.

The Seattle Mariners chose Emerson in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft. He made his Major League debut on August 9, 2023. Emerson helped the Mariners clinch the 2025 American League West division.
