Lane Thomas and the Knoxville Fire (TN) played at Cooperstown Dreams Park during Tournament 5 in 2008.

Lane graduated from Bearden High School (Knoxville, TN). During his sophomore year of high school, he committed to play baseball at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN), however, Lane was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2014 Major League baseball draft in which the outfielder made the decision to play professionally.

Lane was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on July 2, 2017. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 2019.

After two seasons, Lane was traded to the Washington Nationals and then to the Cleveland Guardians on July 29, 2024. Lane and the Guardians clinched the 2024 American League Central division.
