Justin Dean and the Carolina Cubs (SC) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2009 during Tournament 5. The team finished with a 6-0 regular game record for the 7th seed and advanced to the semi-finals of the single elimination tournament.

Justin graduated from Maudlin High School (Maudlin, SC). Following high school, he attended and played baseball at Lenoir-Rhyne University (Hickory, NC). During his collegiate career, Justin appeared and started in a total of 141 games and was named to the 2018 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Second Team.

Justin was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. After six years in the Braves organization, Justin elected for free agency and signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 15, 2024. The outfielder made his Major League debut on August 8, 2025 and went on the win the 2025 World Series with the Dodgers.
