Dalton Guthrie and the Gulf Coast Greyhounds (FL) played at Cooperstown Dreams Park during Week 3 in 2008, reaching the Sweet 16.

Dalton graduated from Venice High School (Venice, FL) where he helped his baseball team clinch back-to-back state championships in Class 7A during his sophomore and junior years and reached the semifinals his senior year. His accolades include two-time all-state and all-state academic team selection, 2014 Rawlings High School Gold Glove Team, 2014 Florida Dairy Farmers Player of the Year for Class 6A, Sarasota Herald-Tribune Player of the Year, Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association Top 25, second-team Preseason All-American, Florida All-Region First Team by Rawlings/Perfect, and first-team Preseason Underclassmen All-American by Perfect Game.  In addition to baseball, Dalton participated with Habitat for Humanity building homes, in “Making Good Decisions” (an organization that helps elementary school students learn to read), and assisted with coaching youth baseball.

Following his high school graduation, Dalton attended and played baseball at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL). As a freshman, he earned Freshman All-American honors from Baseball America (second team) and Louisville Slugger, SEC’s All-Freshman Team, and SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. During his sophomore year, he was named NCAA Gainesville Regional All-Tournament Team, American Baseball Coaches Association (ACBA) All-South Region Second Team, All-SEC Second Team and the SEC All-Defensive Team, and the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. Dalton helped his team with the 2017 College World Series and earned SEC All-Defensive Team, 2017 Golden Spikes Award Watch List, and 2017 SEC Academic Honor Roll. At the conclusion of his junior year, Dalton was drafted in the sixth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.

On September 6, 2022, Dalton made his major league debut and then reached the 2022 World Series with the Phillies gainst the Houston Astros.
