Ernie Clement competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Brighton Barons (NY) in 2008, Tournament 11.

Ernie graduated from Brighton High School (Rochester, NY). A two-time MVP for his varsity baseball team, he was a three-time All-New York State Team, All-Conference and All-Greater Rochester, two-time Rochester City Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and league MVP as a junior and senior. Ernie also played four years of hockey and one year of soccer. On the ice, he was a two-time Bowman Cup Team selection (best hockey players from Rochester and Buffalo areas), led his team in scoring as a junior and senior, led league in scoring his senior year, and earned All-Greater Rochester honors as a senior. An additional accolade included the Hopps Senior Male Athletic Achievement Award (given to high school senior male who demonstrates athletic ability, good character and sportsmanship).

Ernie continued his education and baseball career at University of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA). He earned the following collegiate honors: All-College World Series Team (2015), Third-Team All-ACC at second base (2016), and Third-Team All-ACC at short stop (2017).

Ernie was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. He made his Major League debut on June 13, 2021. Ernie signed with the Oakland Athletics in September 2022 then the Toronto Blue Jays on March 14, 2023. He helped the Blue Jays reach the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
