Carlos Rodon

Carlos Rodon and the South Wake Storm (NC) competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park during Tournament 2 in 2005. Carlos and the Storm posted a 7-0 pool play record and advanced to the Sweet 16.

Carlos graduated from and played baseball at Holly Springs High School (Holly Springs, NC). As a pitcher, he posted a three-year record of 23-2 including 1.40 ERA and 135 strikeouts. As a senior in 2011 he led Holly Springs to a 27-2 record and the state 4-A championship. Carlos’ accolades: named third-team high school All-America by Baseball America, North Carolina High School Player of the Year by the NCHSAA, Tri-Nine Conference player of the year two years in a row, and all-state by the NCBCA.

Following high school, Carlos attended North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC). He played three seasons for the Wolfpack earning the following: 2012 - Golden Spikes finalist, ACC Pitcher of the Year, ACC Freshman of the Year, All-ACC first team, Louisville Slugger's National Freshman Pitcher of the Year, Consensus first team All-America and Freshman All-America; 2013 - USA Baseball Player of the Year, second team All-America from Louisville Slugger, NCBWA and ABCA, third team by Baseball America, and All-ACC first team.

During the 2014 Major League baseball draft, Carlos was selected by the Chicago White Sox. He made his Major League debut on April 21, 2015. Just prior to the 2022 season, Carlos signed with the San Francisco Giants. In December of 2022, he signed with the New York Yankees. The three time MLB All-Star helped the Yankees reach the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
