Cole Young competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with US Elite Baseball (PA) in 2016, Tournament 3. He recorded a home run and helped his team reach the Sweet 16.

Cole graduated from North Allegheny High School (Wexford, PA). Listed as a second baseman and short stop, Cole committed to play baseball at Duke University (Durham, NC). However, he was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft and opted to go professional. He made his Major League debut on May 31, 2025. Cole helped the Mariners clinch the 2025 American League West division.
